On Christian Liberty
“A Christian is a perfectly free lord of all, subject to none. A Christian is a perfectly dutiful servant of all, subject to all.” One of Luther’s most famous treatises that makes clear that a believing Christian is free from sin through faith in God, yet bound by love to serve his neighbor.
While God gave Abraham the covenant promise, He also gave Moses the law covenant on Mount Sinai. Examine God's promises by seeing the Savior as the central message of the Old Testament and determine whether or not the Old Testament law is still applicable to believers today.

Orthodoxy
Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874-1936) has been called "the ablest and most exuberant proponent of orthodox Christianity of his time." One of the twentieth century's most thoughtful authors, he greatly influenced countless Christian writers including C.S. Lewis and others. Described as one of 10 "indispensable spiritual classics" of the past 1500 years byPublishers Weekly, Chesterton's Orthodoxy offers a unique explanation of the essentials of the Christian faith, and of his own journey from skepticism to belief.

Overcoming Life’s Sorrows: Learning from Jeremiah
Take a moment and think about your life. What personal trials, disasters, or setbacks have you had to overcome? Were there moments you thought you couldn't possibly persevere through? God gives an example of someone in a similar situation: the prophet Jeremiah. The Book of Jeremiah is quite possibly the best against-all-odds story ever written and can help you see how to overcome your sorrows.
Settle into Jeremiah's narrative with Rev. Dr. Reed Lessing and see how Jeremiah finds hope and joy despite numerous tragedies. You'll see how through God's Word, Hope, Trust, Faith, and more, you can get through anything.
Who were the Haugeans, and what happened to them? Contemporary American Lutheranism is an amalgamation of various influences and ethnic traditions, yet the contributions and enduring identity of the Haugeans, a Norwegian sub-tradition known for their variety of pietistic expression, have received little attention from historians in the process of American Lutheran merger of the previous decades. This book takes a closer look at the Haugean tradition within American Lutheranism and its distinct emphases. Most importantly, it demonstrates how this group of Lutherans carried forward their tradition within larger organizations. Seeking to serve as positive spiritual leaven within the larger batch of dough of the Lutheran tradition, the leaven of Haugeanism was not universally appreciated, causing for some pain in the belly upon consumption of this dough.
Believing there's a big difference between training children to be quiet in church and teaching them the joy of worship, the author offers down-to-earth advice (with a touch of humor) on how to inspire them to fully participate, from toddler-hood through teen years. Revised and expanded with study guide.
The elderly, AIDS patients, the dying, mourners, the mentally ill, the depressed. Many of you may regularly come into contact with these people who are dealing with death and the struggles of life. This book written by an experienced chaplain helps pastors and lay people in ministering to these special needs. The book also considers a Christian's response to medical-ethics questions including euthanasia.

Pastoral Care Under the Cross is a practical guide for pastors who visit the sick and who generally shepherd the flock of God. Eyer is a former chaplain and pastor with much experience in this area of ministry. Probably the most helpful aspect of this book is the practical examples he gives from his own experience. Through his “stories,” he communicates what pastoral ministry looks like, very raw with emotion, and real problems. This book will be especially helpful to those pastors beginning the pastoral ministry.

Luke wrote Acts as a continuation of his gospel. In this book he records the growth of the early church after Jesus ascended to heaven. The first part of the book focuses on the church in and around Jerusalem. Luke goes on then to record the apostle Paul’s conversion and the spread of the gospel throughout the Roman world.
The People's Bible series is a Bible commentary for everyone. The authors of the series have served as pastors, college teachers, or seminary professors. Each author began with the original Hebrew or Greek text and then worked to bring the message of God's Word to Christians who are looking to dive deeper into their study of the Bible. Two important truths guide all the commentaries: First, the Bible is God's inspired Word and is therefore true and reliable. Second, the central message of the entire Bible is Jesus Christ.

People's Bible: James, Peter, John, and Jude
The letters of James, Peter, John, and Jude are often grouped together and called the general epistles because they are not addressed to a single congregation. James focuses on faith, and Peter encourages believers to lead Christian lives. The book of John focuses on the meaning of the Lord's actions, while the book of Jude warns us against false teachers.

The autobiography of Rev. Trygve Dahle, one of a few retired pastors who joined with the new church body (AFLC) in 1962 out of firm conviction that they were called to preserve their precious heritage of free and living Lutheran congregations for a new generation. This third hardcover book in a new history series for children teaches about Polycarp, a follower of Jesus Christ who loved and served his Lord for over eighty years. And from the beginning to the end, his faith lasted.
We live in a post-Christian world. Contemporary thought—claiming to be “progressive” and “liberating”—attempts to place human beings in God’s role as creator, lawgiver, and savior. But these post-Christian ways of thinking and living are running into dead ends and fatal contradictions.
This timely book demonstrates how the Christian worldview stands firm in a world dedicated to constructing its own knowledge, morality, and truth. Gene Edward Veith Jr. points out the problems with how today’s culture views humanity, God, and even reality itself. He offers hope-filled, practical ways believers can live out their faith in a secularist society as a way to recover reality, rebuild culture, and revive faith.
